John A. Jane

[1] He was Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Virginia from 1969 to 2006.

He did his internship at the Royal Victoria Hospital at McGill University and returned to begin his neurosurgical residency at the University of Chicago clinics in 1957.

[citation needed] He studied aneurysms at the National Hospital in London, England, and also taught neurosurgery at Case Western Reserve University.

[3] In 2004, Jane was named a Cushing Medalist, the highest award given by the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
