John B. Macdonald

John Barfoot Macdonald (February 23, 1918 – December 24, 2014) was a Canadian academic.

[1][2][3] Macdonald was born on February 23, 1918, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

[2] In 1942, he graduated in Dental Surgery from the University of Toronto.

[2][3] During the Second World War, he served in the Dental Corps.

[2] His 1962 report, Higher Education in British Columbia and a Plan for the Future, led to the establishment of Simon Fraser University and the University of Victoria.
