John J. Grogan

John Joseph Grogan (March 25, 1914 – September 16, 1968) was an American labor union leader and politician.

He saw a dock worker killed in an accident involving a crane, and this inspired him to join the United Association union.

In 1941, he was elected as the union's national vice-president, and from 1943, he served on the executive committee of the Congress of Industrial Organizations.

He attempted to win the Democratic nomination for the United States Senate in 1958, but was defeated in the primary.

He was active in the Association of Catholic Trade Unionists, and strongly opposed communism.
