John Neal Hodges

John Neal Hodges (February 13, 1884 – January 18, 1965) was a United States Army officer in the early 20th century.

[1] Hodges was commissioned into the United States Army Corps of Engineers.

He commanded the Sixth Engineer Regiment during World War I, and he worked with the British to build bridges on the Somme.

Hodges received the Distinguished Service Medal for his efforts,[2] and on June 26, 1918, he was promoted to the rank of brigadier general.

He served as the Chief Engineer of the North Atlantic Division from 1943 to 1944, and he received the Legion of Merit for his performance in World War II.
