John Taylor Chapman

John Taylor Chapman is an American politician who serves on the Alexandria City Council.

[1] Chapman serves on the Northern Virginia Regional Commission, the Alexandria Sister Cities Committee, the City / School Subcommittee, the Alexandria Redevelopment & Housing Authority (ARHA) Task Force; the Alexandria Economic Development Partnership (AEDP) Board of Directors, the Transportation Commission, the Landmark Community Development Authority Board of Directors, the Ad Hoc Stormwater Utility and Flood Mitigation Advisory Group and the City Naming Committee.

[2] Chapman runs a tour company that focuses on the history of slavery and African Americans in the City of Alexandria.

[4] Chapman is a strong supporter of affordable housing and references it as an issue that motivates him to continue to run for office.

[8] Although Chapman has not ran for Mayor of the City of Alexandria, he has made public that he has intention on doing so sometime in the future.
