John Yaw Assasie

He served as Chairman of the Northern Region Committee of Administration (Northern Regional Minister) during the NLC regime, and the Director General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation from 1975 to 1981.

[3] He had his secondary education at Takoradi College after which he enlisted in the Gold Coast Army as a private in 1950.

[4] He left for the United Kingdom for further studies at Aldershot after which he was commissioned Lieutenant in 1959.

[7] Following his retirement, he worked as a private businessman and a farmer until his appointment as Director of the Cargo Handling Company in May 1972.

During the PNDC regime, he was appointed Political Counsellor for the Economic Development of Committees for the Defence of the Revolution (CDRs).
