Johnny Schippers

Johannes "Johnny" Schippers (29 June 1943 – 31 January 2009) was a South African politician from the Western Cape.

[2] He represented the National Party, the NNP's forerunner, as a local councillor in Tulbagh from 1995 to 1999.

[4] He served as the NNP's spokesman on safety and security during the legislative term that followed.

[5] Schippers was not immediately re-elected in the 2004 general election and again joined the legislature during the legislative term, replacing Cecil Herandien on 26 August 2005.

He died on 31 January 2009 in a car accident while travelling home to Tulbagh from the ANC's regional constituency office in Worcester.
