He was a barrister-at-law and a solicitor, he served as a member of parliament during the second republic for the Dangbe-Shai constituency.
[4] Jonathan was born on 16 March 1940 at Prampram in the Greater Accra Region.
He continued at the University of Ghana in 1963 for his tertiary education and earned his bachelor of laws degree (LLB) in 1967.
[5] In August 1969, he run for the Dangbe-Shai seat on the ticket of the National Alliance of Liberals.
He is a Christian and his hobbies include; swimming, boxing, farming, tourism and football.
