Joseph Brain (academic)

Joseph David Brain (January 20, 1940 – January 29, 2024) was an American physiologist and environmental health researcher, who served as the Cecil K. and Philip Drinker Professor of Environmental Physiology at Harvard T.H.

Chan School of Public Health,[1][2] where he taught and researched for over fifty years.

[4] Brain served as the Cecil K. and Philip Drinker Professor of Environmental Physiology[8] at Harvard T.H.

Chan School of Public Health, and participated in the leadership of The Lown Institute.

In 1998, he was named the Director of the Kresge Center for Environmental Health at Harvard.
