John O'Brien continued to lead many product development initiatives for the Breville brand until his death in December 2003.

Soon after this, the Breville toasted sandwich maker was launched in New Zealand and the United Kingdom, where it was met with similar success.

[7] Breville has been listed on the Australian Securities Exchange since 1999,[8] and in 2016 relocated its headquarters to a new purpose-built 48,437 sq ft building in the Sydney suburb of Alexandria.

[10] In 2001, Housewares International bought the Breville companies in Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong.
