Katzweiler is a municipality in the district of Kaiserslautern, in Rhineland-Palatinate, western Germany.
Until the end of the 18th Century, it was part of the Electoral Palatinate and under the jurisdiction of the Lautern Superior Court.
In 1815 the village belonged to Austria, but changed to the Kingdom of Bavaria already in 1816.
Following World War II, it was within the French Zone of Occupation that formed the new state of Rhineland-Palatinate in 1946.
