Khar Road railway station

It is close to the Bandra Terminus for catching upcountry trains.

The name of the station is derived from the name of the Koli village, Khar-Danda, near the Arabian Sea.

The station at Khar Rd was opened on 1st April 1924, to cater to the expected 1700 passengers of the then new town planning scheme.

[2] On 11 July 2006, Khar Road was affected by the Mumbai train bombings.
