Komono

[2] Per Japanese census data,[3] the population of Komono has increased steadily over the past 60 years.

Komoro is located in ancient Ise Province and was the center of 12,000 koku Komono Domain under the Tokugawa shogunate, ruled by the Hijikata clan from 1600 until the Meiji restoration of 1871.

Komono has a mayor-council form of government with a directly elected mayor and a unicameral city council of 18 members.

In terms of national politics, the town is part of Mie 3rd district of the lower house of the Diet of Japan.
