Operating for almost 30 years on site, the boarding facilities have had a modern transformation and room upgrade for the benefit of all students.

In 1967, the property was acquired by the Commonwealth Government for the creation of a post primary hostel and boarding school for Indigenous children in isolated locations.
Kormilda College Incorporated was established in 1968 with 121 students from surrounding Territory communities, pastoral stations and missions.
