Kurt G. Alme is an American attorney who served as the United States Attorney for the District of Montana for three years from 2017 to 2020 during the administration of Republican 45th President Donald J.
[1] After stepping down as U.S. Attorney after the November presidential election in December 2020, Alme became the budget director in the administration of Montana's Governor-elect Greg Gianforte.
[3] After graduating from Custer County District High School in Miles City, Montana, he earned a Bachelor of Science academic degree in business from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a law degree of Juris Doctor from the Harvard Law School of Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts (across the Charles River from Boston).
He was a partner with the law firm of Crowley, Haughey, Hanson, Toole & Dietrich, PLLP.
