Lane P. Hughston

Lane P. Hughston (born 24 December 1951 in Corpus Christi, Texas) is an American mathematician.

[1][2] He holds a doctorate in mathematics from the University of Oxford, where he was a Rhodes Scholar and a student of Roger Penrose.

After completing his doctorate he held a Junior Research Fellowship at Wolfson College, Oxford, and then was Darby Fellow and Tutor in Applied Mathematics at Lincoln College, Oxford.

[4] He has held visiting appointments at the University of Texas at Austin, King's College London, the Institute for Advanced Study, the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics, and University College London.

He has carried out work in general relativity, cosmology, twistor theory, quantum mechanics, quantum information, statistical mechanics, mathematical finance, and music theory.
