It benefited from being on the A20 London Road and is just 4 miles north west of the county town of Maidstone.

A manor house was located on the site from the 18th century on what was known as Larkfield farm.

[1] In the nineteenth century it was the home of the Reverend William Lewis Wigan and his family.

It was renamed to Larkfield Priory Hotel in January 2013 and stabilised as a business.

The hotel is currently undergoing updating and modernisation whilst remaining open.
