Lee Sechrest

Lee Burton Sechrest (January 1, 1929 – October 10, 2015) was an American psychologist and research methodologist.

In 1973, he became a professor of psychology at Florida State University, and in 1980, he was named director of the Center for Research on the Utilization of Scientific Knowledge in the Institute for Social Research at the University of Michigan.

He continued to serve as an active faculty member at the University of Arizona until 2002, whereupon he became an emeritus professor there.

[2] Sechrest received awards from Divisions 5 (Evaluation, Measurement and Statistics) and 18 (Psychologists in Public Service) of the American Psychological Association.

In April 2003, a festschrift was held in his honor at the University of Arizona, where he received the lifetime achievement award from the American Psychological Society.
