Leucania yu is a species of moth in the family Noctuidae first described by Achille Guenée in 1852.
[1] It is found in Oriental tropics of India, Sri Lanka,[2] the Andaman Islands, China, Indonesia, the Philippines, Taiwan east to Australia, Fiji and Tonga.
[4] In the forewing, over the cell there is a characteristic narrow, triangular, pale wedge, which is dark brown distally.
Faint longitudinal bands and small white spots also visible.
Larval food plants include several grasses, Paspalum and Saccharum species.
