Life Saving Victoria operates two helicopters, funded by Westpac, which patrol beaches during summer and have the capacity to rescue swimmers.
[5] The Pool Safety Department within Life Saving Victoria assist in consulting on matters relating to pool safety including facility design, safe operation, supervision, critical incident management and general management consultancy throughout Health, Aquatics and Sporting Industry and to councils, organisations and private operators.
[6] The Pool Safety Department provide expert recommendations in line with the Guidelines for Safer Pool Operations (GSPO) and facilitate public awareness and response to supervision of children and young people through the Watch Around Water program currently present in Aquatic facilities throughout the state.
Life Saving Victoria provides education and training programs to all members of the community offering public and private courses.
Candidates are trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, first aid, pool lifeguard, teacher of swimming and water safety and additional courses accessible to members of surf lifesaving clubs.
