According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 25.7 square miles (66.7 km2), all land.

At the 2000 census there were 1,669 people, 642 households, and 489 families living in the township.

There were 676 housing units at an average density of 26.3 per square mile (10.2/km2).
