Line 54 (Amsterdam Metro)

Metro Line 54 (Dutch: Metrolijn 54), also known as Gein Line (Geinlijn, formerly Holendrechtlijn) is a line of the Amsterdam Metro between Amsterdam Centraal station and Gein station in the Gein district in Amsterdam-Zuidoost.

On 11 October 1980, the extension from Weesperplein to Centraal Station followed, and on 27 August 1982, the line was completed with the extension from Holendrecht to Gein.

In the period 2013-2015, these were gradually replaced by the new M5 trainsets.

Since then, CAF rolling stock has also been in service and from 2019 to 2024, S1/S2 light rail rolling stock.

Since 2018 (but not in 2021 and 2022), a regular service has also been running at night on New Year's Eve for the first time, every 15 minutes from 1:30 am.
