List of certified albums in South Korea

The Korea Music Content Association (KMCA) was established in 2008, with the purpose of promoting the professional interests of its members, as well as being involved in anti-piracy.

It introduced the first official South Korean music charts in 2010,[1] and implemented record certifications in April 2018—only releases subsequent to January 1, 2018 would be eligible once they fulfilled the required thresholds.

[2][3] Since 2018, 355 albums have been certified by the KMCA in South Korea.

Boy band Seventeen has the most-certified albums of any artist, with twenty-two.

[5] As of September 2024, South Korea's highest-certified records are Map of the Soul: 7 (2020) by BTS, FML (2023) and Seventeenth Heaven (2023) by Seventeen, and 5-Star (2023) by Stray Kids.

South Korean boyband BTS has received Million certification seven times for over 21 million album sales. Their 2020 studio album Map of the Soul: 7 is the first album with 5× Million certification and the best-selling album in South Korea.
Wanna One (pictured in 2018) was one of the first groups to receive a certification in May 2018, for their EP 0+1=1 (I Promise You)
Twice 's (pictured in 2018) What Is Love? EP was the first album by a female act to receive a certification in 2018.
The Album and Born Pink by Blackpink (pictured in 2019) are the first albums by a girl group to receive Million and Double Million certification respectively.
