The name Paeng was used four times by the Philippine weather agency PAGASA in the Western Pacific Ocean.
As a local name, the name was originally called Paloma in 2002, but possibly removed due to the name involving Pepsi Paloma.
The name Paeng was retired after the 2022 season, it will be replaced by Pilandok for the 2026 season, a local name derived from a name of Philippine mouse-deer.
