Liye (Chinese: 里耶鎮; pinyin: Lǐyē zhèn) is a town in Longshan County, Hunan, China.
It covers an area of 259.2 km2 (100.1 sq mi), as of November 2015, it has a registered population of 43,300, the seat is Liye Community.
[3] An archaeological site of ancient humans belonging to the Longshan culture (3000–1900 BC) was found near a bridge in the northeast of the seat of the town in May 1982.
[4] The ruins dating to the Warring States period were excavated in the yard of Liye Primary School in April 2002.
The event was considered the most important archaeological discovery of the Qin dynasty since that of the Terracotta Army in 1973.
