After completing his school education in Gondal, he joined the Dharamsinhji College, Rajkot in 1940.
[1][2] In early life, he came in a contact with his spiritual teacher, Nathalal Joshi.
[2][5] He served as the editor of Kumar (1944–45), Urmi Navrachna (1946), Sangam, Parmarthi magazines and Jai Hind daily.
[1][2] With his wife, he moved from Mumbai to Dharampur near Valsad in 1987 and established Nandigram, an ashram for the welfare of tribal people as well as a spiritual centre.
[6] He died on 31 January 2005 at Nandigram near Vankal village in Valsad district, Gujarat.
