Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum

Mrs. Dorothy (Honey) Arbury of Midland, Michigan studied with sculptor Marshall Fredericks when she attended Kingswood School at the Cranbrook Educational Community in Bloomfield Hills in the 1930s.

The Board of Control, the college and the Arburys worked together on an agreement to have the Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Gallery built within and adjacent to the new facilities for the art, music, and theatre departments.

Exhibitions change every few months, and have included paintings, prints, sculpture, ceramics, quilts, drawings, photography and fine craft.

The Archives project was initiated in 2005, following receipt of the business and personal records from Fredericks’ Birmingham home and Royal Oak studio in 2000.

Saginaw Valley State University and the Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum are proud to be the recipient of this important archival collection.
