Marshall P. Jones

[3] Jones worked as a career foreign service officer (FSO).

From 1954 to 1966, he held roles in Israel, Yugoslavia and South Korea.

[4] Appointed by President Lyndon B. Johnson to suceed Sam P. Gilstrap, Jones served as a United States ambassador to Malawi from January 13, 1966 until his retirement on March 20, 1970.

[5] Following his departure in 1970, he was succeeded by William C. Burdett Jr.[6][4] Jones passed away on August 18, 1985, at the age of 70.
