As of the census[5] of 2000, there were 4,246 people, 1,686 households, and 1,129 families residing in the CDP.

The racial makeup of the CDP was 97.83% White, 0.52% Black or African American, 0.14% Native American, 0.45% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.21% from other races, and 0.82% from two or more races.

There were 1,686 households, out of which 31.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.4% were married couples living together, 8.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.0% were non-families.

28.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 14.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
