Martha Israel

Prior to this, she was also a member of the Spremberg city council, and was the secretary of the local branch of the Domowina.

Martha Israel was born on 18 November 1905 in the town of Lohsa in Upper Lusatia, then part of the Prussian Province of Silesia in the German Empire.

She joined the Socialist Unity Party (SED) in 1952, and was elected to the Spremberg city council the following year.

From 1959 until 1962, Israel was a member of the SED district leadership in Bezirk Cottbus.

[1][2][3][4] Israel was appointed to the Volkskammer in April 1963 following the resignation of Max Müller [de], and joined the SED parliamentary group.
