Mary Herrera (born August 27, 1959) is an American politician.
A native of Albuquerque, Herrera graduated from West Mesa High School in 1977.
She received a Certificate of Program Administration for Senior Executives from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University[1] and various certificates in Labor, Employment, and Benefits Law from the Institute for Applied Management.
[2] Prior to being elected Secretary, Herrera held many offices within the Bernalillo County government.
She started her career as a typist, working her way up to an Assistant Comptroller, to the Director of Human Resources.
