Mecistocephalus erythroceps is a species of centipede in the Mecistocephalidae family.
[2] It was described in 1920 by American myriapodologist Ralph Vary Chamberlin.

The body is a uniformly light yellow with a reddish head.
The body is slender, with a uniform width for the anterior half but attenuated over the posterior half.
