Mecistocephalus tahitiensis is a species of centipede in the Mecistocephalidae family.
It was described in 1862 by American myriapodologist Horatio Wood.
[1][2] This species has 47 pairs of legs and can reach 50 mm in length.
[3] The species occurs in New Guinea, Fiji and Samoa.
The type locality is Tahiti.
