Megan E. Shanahan (born 1972 or 1973)[1] is an American lawyer who has served as a justice of the Ohio Supreme Court since 2025.
She served as a judge of the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas from 2015 to 2024.
[2] She started her career as assistant prosecutor in Butler County.
Then in 2015, she was appointed by Governor John Kasich to a seat on the Hamilton County Common Pleas Court.
[3] In March 2023, Shanahan announced her run to become a justice of the Ohio Supreme Court;[4] eventually becoming one of six candidates running for three seats on the Ohio Supreme Court.
