Midway is an unincorporated community and former census-designated place (CDP) in Washington County, Tennessee.

It is part of the Johnson City Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is a component of the Johnson City-Kingsport-Bristol, TN-VA Combined Statistical Area – commonly known as the "Tri-Cities" region.

[3] According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 6.2 square miles (16 km2), all of it land.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 2,491 people, 1,011 households, and 761 families residing in the CDP.

19.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
