It is part of the Mildred Independent School District located in southeastern Navarro County.

In 2011, the school was rated "Academically Acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.

[2] The Mildred Speech and Debate Team currently participates in UIL, NSDA, and TFA.

Mildred has qualified Cross-Examination debate teams to the NSDA National Tournament in 2018, 2017, and 2014.
