The entire township is part of the watershed of Lake Huron's Saginaw Bay.

As of the census[3] of 2000, there were 1,871 people, 659 households, and 514 families residing in the township.

There were 689 housing units at an average density of 19.7 per square mile (7.6/km2).

There were 659 households, out of which 39.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.6% were married couples living together, 7.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.0% were non-families.

16.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 5.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
