Mimurotoji

Mimurotoji (Japanese: 三室戸寺) is Temple #10 of the 33 Kannon temples in Japan, located in Uji.

When the temple was built in ancient times, it was meant to shield Kyoto from evil spirits.

[1] Its gardens have 20,000 azaleas and 1000 rhododendrons[1] and it is a 20-minute walk from Mimurodo Station.

[2] Mimurotoji appears in "Uji-shi: Ujicha to Genji Monogatari no Machi", a publicly-funded smartphone game created by the city of Uji.
