Minim, Martap

The village contains Cameroon's main source of bauxite.

[1] Along with Ngaoundal, Minim is part of a large project to mine the bauxite of the Adamawa Plateau.

[4][5] Covering an area of 1000 km2, the deposit represents an important component of the Adamawa plateau and the gentle slopes which surround it make it easy to access.

[6] Studies of feasibility and environmental impact were carried out[6] and a mining development plan was completed in May 2016.

[7] Financing for the construction of a facility for refining the bauxite into aluminium and for transport infrastructure is still outstanding.
