Modoc is a census-designated place (CDP) in McCormick County, South Carolina, United States.
They were sent, first to the Indian Territory (now Oklahoma) and then, a few, on to an area on the left (east) bank[citation needed] of the Savannah River in what was then Edgefield County, South Carolina.
The 1930 Census of the township of Modoc, by then in McCormick County, had no listings of any "Indians".
28.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
About 11.8% of families and 11.1% of the population were below the poverty line, including 28.2% of those under the age of eighteen and none of those 65 or over.
