[1] He is also a state legislator since 2016 and from 2008 to 2017 he served as Minister of Labour, Employment, and Social Development of Chechnya.
From April 2000 to 2007, he was the senior lecturer at the Department of Economics and Production Management at Chechen State University.
On 19 November 2008, he was appointed Minister of Labour, Employment, and Social Development of the Chechen Republic.
On 14 November 2019, he was appointed by the parliament to finish his now-predecessor's term as one of the two Chechen representatives in the Federation Council.
In 2022, he effectively voted to recognise the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk people's republics from Ukraine.
