He graduated from Bates College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1955 and University of Chicago Law School with a Juris Doctor in 1958.
Brody was engaged in private practice in Washington, D.C. from 1958 to 1961 and in Waterville, Maine from 1961 to 1980.
Brody was then appointed as a justice of the Superior Court of Maine, serving from 1980 to 1985.
Brody's service terminated on March 25, 2000, due to death in Boston, Massachusetts.
