Mount Loftus

Mount Loftus is a country estate in the civil parish of Powerstown in County Kilkenny, Ireland.

The current house on the estate, built in the early 20th century, was rebuilt from staff accommodations after a fire in the 1930s.

[1] This house, and several of its outbuildings, are included on Kilkenny County Council's Record of Protected Structures.

When offered for sale in 2001, the owners were described as horse trainers who, when they bought the property, refurbished the 11 stone-built stables and created guest accommodation for staff and visitors.

[3] Also located on the estate are the ruins of a tower house,[2] known as Drumroe Castle, which dates to at least the 16th century and was historically associated with the Kavanagh family.
