It is part of the Mount Pleasant Independent School District located in central Titus County.

In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.

[4] Until the Winfield Independent School District dissolved in 2018 and merged into Mount Pleasant ISD,[5] Mount Pleasant High was designated to serve high school students from Winfield ISD territory, including Winfield and Millers Cove.
