Mpanga Hydroelectric Power Station

[1] The power station is located across River Mpanga, in Kitagwenda County, Kitagwenda District where the district headquarters are located, approximately 25 kilometres (16 mi), by road, southwest of Kamwenge.

[2] This location is approximately 305 kilometres (190 mi), by road, west of Kampala, Uganda's capital and largest city.

The 18.0 MW power station was developed by Africa Energy Management Systems.

[5] A new 33kV transmission line connects the power station to the national electrical grid.

There are 32 staff (Both Ugandan and Sri Lankan) members currently employed at the site to do the day-to-day operation of the plant.
