Myriade is a European miniaturized satellite platform developed by EADS Astrium and CNES.
CNES began developing Myriade in 1998, as a continuation of the Proteus program.
Myriade satellites are cube-shaped, measuring 60 cm along one side, and weigh between 100 and 200 kg.
Power is provided by one steerable gallium arsenide solar array.
The first Myriade based system was Demeter (Detection of Electro-Magnetic Emissions Transmitted from Earthquake Regions), launched in June 2004.
