He was part of the British team that won a silver medal in the 2020 Paralympic mixed 4 × 100 metres relay.

[11] In 2016, Maguire was part of the British 4 × 400 metres relay team that won the 2016 IPC Athletics European Championships non-medal event.

[12] Maguire was part of the British 4 × 400 metres relay T53/T54 team that finished second in their heat at the 2016 Summer Paralympics.

[1][2] That year, he also won one gold and three bronze medals at the 2018 World Para Athletics European Championships.

[17] Later in the year, he came third in the 400 metres T54 event at the 2021 World Para Athletics European Championships, narrowly beating fellow Briton Danny Sidbury.

Since the Paralympics, Maguire has called for more international competitions, so that para athletics is given a bigger spotlight, saying that they haven’t had anything like it since London 2012, when there were crowds of 70,000 watching.
