On 31 January 2013, the National Monitoring Centre was reorganized as an independent agency named National Telecommunication Monitoring Centre, and Brigadier General Ibne Fazal Sayekhuzzaman was appointed its founding director.
Brigadier General Ziaul Ahsan was made the director of the centre on 6 March 2017.
