Syed Nawab Haider Naqvi was born in Meerut, British India on 11 July 1935.
He was a post-doctoral research fellow at Harvard University from 1969–1970.
[2][3] Naqvi served as the director of the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics from 1979 to 1995.
He also served as a senior economic advisor for the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) and a Higher Education Commission of Pakistan Distinguished National Professor and director general at Federal Urdu University, Islamabad.
[2] Naqvi died on 7 July 2024, at the age of 88.
