New Salem-Buffington, Pennsylvania

New Salem-Buffington was a census-designated place (CDP) in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, United States, and part of the Pittsburgh Metro Area.

For the 2010 census the area was split into two CDPs, New Salem and Buffington.

[1] According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP had a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.1 km2), all of it land.

There were 362 housing units at an average density of 307.3 per square mile (118.6/km2).

25.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 14.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
